2020

Dear All,

I hope my mail finds you all healthy and safe in these strange times. I’m sure you are all aware by now that with the announcement of Electric Picnic’s cancellation in Ireland and the Leeds Festival in England, all the large outdoor events that we normally cover in any given summer have now gone along with the work that came with it. Sadly this means that I will not have the opportunity of working alongside you all over the Summer of 2020. A blessing some might say. But for me it just means I’ll miss you all and the work we all do together.

You may also have noticed that a lot of this Summers cancelled shows have been rescheduled for 2021 so, for example, The Music Consortium production team should get to deliver all the Malahide shows in June 2021 and the crewing arm have already been booked for all our usual outdoor events in 2021. Until then I wanted to say thank you to all for all the help and support you have given The Music Consortium during the ten years (yes that’s right 2020 would have been ten years!) or so since we created the business in 2011.

Rest assured that we will utilise this break to look at all our systems and re-emerge bigger, stronger and better than before this madness started. Watch this space. Hopefully normal service will be resumed in the near future and we’ll see you all then. So please stay safe, I’m on the end of an email if you need me for anything.
Remember Live Events will be back I’ll leave you with something to think about from the Irish Poet Seamus Heaney  “If we winter this one out, we can summer anywhere”

Best Wishes

Spike
