Introduction

The Music Consortium came to fruition by pulling together a team of like-minded individuals from its inception in January 2011, The Music Consortium has very quickly developed into a brand that reflects our visionary approach in its delivery of services to all sectors of the entertainment industry.

Spike Beecham – Managing Director

The Music Consortium was devised and created by Spike; a Merseyside born production manager. Spike has an extensive music industry background that has spent 25 years working in the industry. During his career Spike has covered a wide variety of roles including Promoters Rep, Stage Manager, Tour Manager, Production Manager, Promoter, Artist Manager and Theatre Producer to name but a few. When not working Spike is a fully signed up Vinyl Junkie and needs to take several sabbaticals a year to feed his addiction.

Sam Beecham – Finance Director & Administration

Sam has over 20 years’ experience in professional project management. Sam is a confident, self-motivated, hardworking individual who got sucked into her role after jumping right into the middle of the festival season eight years ago. Accustomed to working in a pressured environment, Sam is committed to providing a quality service and has been a great addition to The Music Consortium family, helping to mould and challenge the team to work harder and strive towards reaching the high standards the Company sets for itself and its crew. Sam is also an equine scientist and therefore loves all things horse related.

Callum Brain - Crewing Coordinator

As Crew Coordinator, Callum is responsible for booking crew and arranging the logistics of jobs. Callum joined us at the height of summer 2022 after graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in Business Management. Thrown straight into the deep end he joined us on-site across various festivals and events, learning about our operations by shadowing Katie, and getting stuck into the Crew Chief role under the watchful eye of Dhiren. When not working you will usually find him searching for new music, working on and DJing at his club night, or following his beloved Leeds United around the country. I suppose someone must!

Dhiren Brady - Operations Crew Chief

Dhiren the newest member of our team was introduced to TMC by Katie (Scheduling Coordinator) back in 2019, and recommended he work as crew over the summer season. After doing his first season with The Music Consortium, he then decided to change his university choice and opted to study Live Events Production at Backstage Academy. Dhiren was approached by Spike and Sam at the end of festival season 2022 to become a full time employee, as recognition from his hard work and dedication over the season. He is responsible for leading and overseeing the crew on the ground.

Laurence Turner - Admin Intern

Laurence Turner – Admin Intern

As an Admin Intern, Laurence will assist the team with bookings and event logistics. Laurence graduated from the University Of Leeds in the summer of 2023 with a degree in Film & Media. After working with The Music Consortium as a Crew Member since 2019, Laurence was thrilled to have the opportunity to join the office team for the start of the 2024 festival season. In his own time, Laurence likes to stay social & active, skating when the weather allows it & taking strolls through the countryside.

Katie Butterfield – Scheduling Coordinator

Katie started life with The Music Consortium as a member of our crew whilst studying to obtain her BA (Hons) in Live Event Production. During this period her youthful enthusiasm made her very popular with the crew, which led to Katie becoming a crew chief. Katie then spent time with Sam & Lauren learning about our operating and delivery systems at pace, leading to her new full-time role. Katie spends her spare time crocheting, something in which she also excels, to the extent we’ll find various flora & fauna scattered around the office on any given day. I currently have a crocheted pumpkin sitting on my desk. Who said Rock and Roll was dead?
